DEPROSC-Nepal is a non-profit making, non-governmental organization (NGO) with expertise in food security, microfinance, natural resource management, community assets development, social development, DRR etc.  

DEPROSC-Nepal is one of the implementing partners of USAID funded Community Resilience Program (Sabal) in 6 districts ( Makwanpur, Khotang, Udaypur, Sindhuli, Okhaldhunga and Ramechhap)  of central and eastern regions. With this background, we are pleased to announce following vacancies with a brief ToR.

Post title: Finance Service Officer (1)


Term and location: Fixed term (15 months) based in one of the project districts with possibility of extension till project tenure.


Required qualification and experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in any academic discipline but preferably in Management/Finance/Agriculture Economics or equivalent from a recognized university with minimum 2 years of work experience in development projects or financial services such as microfinance, micro health insurance, financial literacy, training. Candidates with Master's Degree in above disciplines will also need 1 year of work experience.


This is not a regular finance/account based position but requires substantial knowledge and experience on microfinance, micro health insurance, financial literacy, training and Farmers Business School.


Job Description:

The Finance Service Officer will be responsible in designing and implementing detail implementation plan activities of micro finance, micro health insurance and business literacy.  Specifically, s/he will be responsible to:

  • Draft detail implementation plan of your district on DEPROSC thematic areas,
  • Support to run Micro health insurance awareness training program
  • Implement Farmers Business School
  • Orient frontline staffs on Detail Implementation Plan and suitable methodology to implement,
  • Prepare a database of service providers, and those who are out of access to finance and those who are receiving support with project interventions,
  • Visit groups to ensure that activities and services provided are satisfactorily implemented as agreed,
  • Develop work plan on group saving schemes and provide support from the project in the initial stage and then let it be run by the group themselves,
  • Link entrepreneurs to access loans from MFIs and provide micro-finance services in project areas.
